Purpose: To learn to create an email ID and to send and receive messages.

Windows laptop or desktop, Android tablet or phone.

Students should know:

    1. Create a new email ID.

    Exercise 2



    1. Send an email to your friend about a tour to Kodaikanal, and attach a video clip of Kodaikanal.

    Exercise 3



    1. Ask a friend to send a video to your email account. When you receive the email, download the video to your local drive.

    1. Explain to the students how to create an email ID, step by step.
    2. Show the students the teacher's own email account as an example.
    3. Teachers should explain that a mobile number is needed to create a new Gmail account, and that an alternative verification method can be used instead of a phone number.
    4. Teachers should explain the different account types, such as personal and business.
    5. Teachers should explain that a phone number can be used to recover the account if the password is forgotten or access to the inbox is lost.
    6. Use technical terms wherever possible, for example login, logout, sent, compose, draft, forward and reply.
